CAFE: Calgary Association of Freelance Editors

A professional organization for local freelance editors

About Us

Who We Are
The Calgary Association of Freelance Editors (CAFE) was started in 1988 by a small group of editors as a forum to exchange information about editing. In 1995 it was officially incorporated as a society.
CAFE’s program format has changed several times over the years. In response to our current members’ needs, we have recently made another change. Instead of monthly meetings featuring presentations, we will be holding quarterly meetings designed to stimulate creativity and provide time to network.

Membership Fee
A low annual fee of $45 (note the updated price) buys you a membership valid from September of the current year until August of the following year. Membership privileges cover the quarterly meetings and a full year’s listing of your profile on the searchable database of this website.

Drop-in Fee
Non-members are welcome to attend any of the meetings for a small drop-in fee.

Meetings
Meetings will be held quarterly at various locations around the city. Programs offered over the year will provide a mix of learning, networking, and social opportunities.
Keep up to date on CAFE activities by bookmarking our Events page!

Annual General Meetings
AGMs are held during the final meeting of each program year.
