In the process, we establish professional relationships, learn fascinating things, and develop our freelance businesses. We also have fun!

CAFE is a professional association dedicated to the promotion and development of freelance editors in the Calgary area. To be considered a freelance editor, you must derive at least some of your annual income from freelance editing, have a trade name, a Business Number with the Government of Canada (a GST number), or have business stationery (cards and letterhead).

We understand that people just starting out in this fascinating field may not as yet, be deriving income from editing contracts. That’s okay; membership is open to new editors. Just bring your enthusiasm, a willingness to learn, and a desire to promote yourself as an entrepreneur. In time, we hope you will also want to promote CAFE.
